October 24- October 28

Hello Parents and Guardians!

I apologize that the website took so long to update, but I will update this website weekly with the newsletter and the week's spelling words.

This is the 9th week of school! Report cards will be going home next Friday. If you would like to set up a conference now to talk about anything please feel free to email me at ckim@wcpss.net.  I am available in the morning at 8:15 on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays , and Fridays. I am also available in the afternoons at 4:15 on Mondays– Thursdays.
Big Universe is an online library where students can pick books on their current reading level or challenge themselves one higher level. Sign in and password information went home with your child the last couple of weeks. If you click on “F&P” students can click on their reading level or one level higher to find a good fit book. Another great website for practice in math or reading is Scootpad.com. Username and sign up also went home in the last couple of weeks. Please email me if you need any sign in information.
We have three homework assignments every night. Many students are struggling to finish all three homework assignments. Please sign your child’s reading log to keep them accountable for reading 20 minutes a day at home. This does wonders for their reading development.
Please send your student with a water bottle everyday so they can drink whenever they want inside the classroom (we keep it in their cubby). Even if it is a plain plastic water bottle.
Thank you to those who donated healthy snacks for students who are not able to bring a snack everyday. I wish you could see their faces when they get a donated snack!

Please email me any questions or comments! Thank you for your time and help!
